The tenor Rudi de Vries studied in Zwolle, Amsterdam, Kolone and Vienna. After finishing the Opera course in Salzburgand the Operaclass of the Sweelinck Academy of Music he was accepted into the Operastudio with the Dutch Opera Society. There, he performed in Lohengrin, Parsifal, La Fanciulla del West and Un Ballo in Maschera. He performed as a soloist in the operettas The Merry Widow, Die Zigeuner baron, Grafin Mariza, zirkusprinzessin and Maske in Blau. In 1988 and 1989 he was a member of the Festspielchor in Bayreuth. Rudi also performed in Pforzheim, Kaiserlautern, Geneva and Antwerp. He also perfomed in Samole (in Amstedam), Candide ( in Enschede), the opera Cyrano de Bergerac by Jack Beeson (in Hagen) and Simon Bolivar by Thea Musgrave (in Regensburg)
