Vera van Oortmerssen studied at the Agder Folkehogskole in Sogne in Norway. She graduated from the Rijkshogeschool Groningen in 1992 as Teaching Musician. Now she has lessons from Jelle Draijer. She sang the titlerole in the operetta Clivia by Dostal in the production of operetta-group Thalia. She also was a member of the Northern Vocal Ensemble of Leendert Runia. As memeber of the vocal ensemble she worked with Stichting Kunstwerk in the project Tonight, Leonard Bernstein on Stage.
