With the Chicago Symphony he has sung the role of David in Die Meistersinger under the baton of Erich Leinsdorf. That same year he was Nanki-Poo in Peter Sellar's production of The Mikado and the Messenger in Aida with Luciano Pavarotti, both with Lyric Opera of Chicago. He is also a well-known vocal coach and conductor in Los Angeles, where he lives with his wife Lucia and their three children, Gina, Charlie and Sophie.
