Vera Borisova plays first cast Carlotta in the Hamburg, Germany production. She was a soloist for 14 years with the Operetta Theater in St. Petersburg, Russia. She was born in Jekaterinenburg, Urals and attended the State Music, Theater and Film Institute in St Petersburg, where she studied Voice and Acting. Among many other productions, she was most notably seen as Galathee in "Die schöne Galathee", as Adele in "Die Fledermaus" and as Stella in "La Fille du Tambour-Majors" (Jacques Offenbach). In 1986 she won the Voice Competition for lieder by modern Russian composers held in Sotschi, Caucasus. In 1993, she achieved the special honor of First Prize in the category of Musical and Operetta in a national Russian TV-Competition for Voice and Acting.
